Prayer, Invocation to the Silsila

May all Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. May the choicest blessings of Allah rest upon His chosen one, Muhammad Mustafa, the radiant lamp of guidance and the undying flame of truth. May unceasing peace and innumerable Divine blessings flow towards the chain of spiritual transmitters that form the lineage that has been gifted us. May the grace, power and communicative spirit of Jibrael a.s be directed towards our inmost being where we may be able to receive the messages of Divine Inspiration that help illumine our intellects and uplift our souls. May the perfect wisdom of Muhammad s.w and the outpouring of Love and Mercy from his noble heart become the treasures in the chambers of our hearts. May the strength and valour of Hazrat Ali, Sher-i-Khuda, his piety and his obedience to the Prophet s.w and Allah be the lamp-posts that light up the dark alleys of our soul’s journey. May the dark night of the soul’s suffering be granted the patience and iman of Hasan Basri r.a. May the nightly vigils and humble supplications of Abdul Wahid bin Zayd be answered in the form of nijaat i.e absolution and freedom from worldly concerns for those who are tied to his garment of spiritual connection. May the penitent tears of Hazrat Fuzayl Ibn Ayaz and his sincere longing become the cool water that extinguishes the fire of our suffering. May the renunciation of Ibrahim Adham be the gift of renunciation that our spirit receives. May Huzayfa Marishi’s sanctity become the adornment of our tainted soul. May Hubayra Basri’s Light come to reside in us. May Mumshad ullah Dinwari throw over our nakedness the garment of his modesty. May Abu Ishaq Shami admit us into the presence of those he bought by the dinars of his goodness and inayat. May Abu Ahmad Abdal Chishti recognize us as his dependents, and may he look out for our welfare, praying to the AlMighty for the sake of that which has been granted him out of the treasury of Divine Grace. May Abu Muhammad Chishti feed us with a morsel from the plate of his poverty. May Abu Yusuf Chishti grant us a tear from his sacred eye that wept in remembrance of God and in love of the Prophet s.w. and the awliya. May Qutbuddin Mawdud Chishti bequeath a tremor of his heart that it felt in God-fear and in awe of Him. May Haji Sharif Zindani turn his glance towards us and deliver the magnetic rays of attraction that subdue our unruly selves to the divine power vested in him by the command of Allah. May Usman Harwani’s Light be the mantle over our heads. May the crown of Muinuddin Hassan Ajmeri decorate our heads. May the ishq of Qutbuddin Bakhtiar Kaki become the power of our souls. May the kind grace and tawajjuh of Baba Farid Ganj-i-Shakar transform the bitterness in us into the sweetness of divine tasting. May the love of Nizamuddin Awliya for his Murshid become the ransom for freeing us from worldly oppression. May the devotion of Nasiruddin Chiragh Dehlvi be the fruit of the tree of devotion of our souls. May Kamaluddin Allama’s hand hold us when we are about to falter. May Sirajuddin’s embrace comfort us when we are broken. May Ilmuddin’s faith be reflected in our faith when it begins to weaken. May Mahmud Rajan’s humility fill up inside us. May Jamaluddin Jaman’s trust become our trust. May Hassan Muhammad’s tranquilty become the tranquility of our hearts. May Muhammad Azam Chishti’s sabr become the sabr of our souls. May Yahya Madani’s austerities and devotions develop in us the strength of devotion and discipline. May Shah Kalimullah Jahanabadi’s mystical attainments become the fruits of our spiritual struggles. May Nizamuddin Awrangabadi’s grace and fayz flow towards us. May Maulana Fakhruddin’s dignity become the dignity of our souls. May Ghulam Qutbuddin’s servility towards the Divine become our obedience and servility. May Nasiruddin Mahmud Kali Shah’s ardour for divine proximity become our passionate desire. May Muhammad Hassan Jilli Kalimi’s spiritual strengths be our weapons against negativity. May Abu Hashim Madani’s illumination be the light of our hearts. May beloved Murshid Inayat Khan’s undiminishing love, boundless compassion, luminous wisdom, infinite expansion of his soul enfold us, sustain us, embrace us and lift us to the lofty heights of spiritual exaltation. On this day of his Urs when he was united with the Source of his being, the day that he attained eternal life and never-ending effusion of grace, we humbly request Allah to grant us for the sake of this, His humble servant and truthful lover and faithful gnostic, some drops of special and sacred fayz from Murshid’s heart spring of Divine Wisdom and Mystical Illumination. May we bear the Inayati stamp of acceptance and may Murshid cover us all with the Inayati cloak of poverty.

O Allah increase Murshid Inayat Khan in degrees of spiritual majesty with an increase that continues till the day of Reckoning and may his spiritual secret be guarded till eternity. May his light carry his mureeds through difficult times and may Allah help our ships to reach the shores of safety and salvation.
