Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan

Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan (1917 - 2004), former head of the Sufi Order International was internationally recognized among leaders of all faiths as a master of meditation and spiritual teacher. Trained in the major spiritual traditions, his teaching is derived from both the rich mysical tradition of the East and the esoteric heritage and scholarship of the West, and from music, science, and psychology. Pir Vilayat has initiated dozens of international gatherings of religious, spiritual, and scientific leaders, and has participated in many international and interfaith conferences promoting understanding and world peace.

Since 2004 his son Pir Zia Inayat Khan is the Head of the Sufi Order International.

Pir Vilayat's resting place is near the Dargah of his father, Pir-o-Murshid Hazrat Inayat Khan in New Delhi.
